War of 1812, private, 3rd Regiment Militia
Isaac was the son of a Revolutionary War veteran. On 24 September 1814 he enlisted as Private for a six months term in Captain Tristam Bethea's Company of Artillery, 3rd Regiment, SC Militia, War of 1812. He was given a disability discharge 25 November 1814 at Haddrill's Point, SC according to Company Rolls.

Isaac later immigrated from SC to GA. He married Eleanor Tetstom 26 April 1820 in Tattnall County, GA. The couple settled near Ten-Mile Creek in present day Bacon County, where they had a large plantation and 12 children. Isaac is found in Appling Co. GA census records in 1820/1830/1840/1850.

Isaac died in 1854, and his son, Stephen, became Administrator of his Estate. The estate included 1900 head of cattle, 150 acres of land in Appling County and 171 acres in Ware County, all now in Bacon County near present day Alma, GA. The estate was administered in Appling Court of Ordinary. Mr. Carter was buried on his home place, and the family burying ground in due time became the community used cemetery and Ten Mile Baptist Church was built about 500 feet away. Isaac and Nellie's cabin has since been moved but still exists nearby.
